Minnesota employers subject to the state’s paid family and medical leave act (PFML) must file wage reports with the state Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) by October 31, 2024. These reports will be based on wages paid between July 1, 2024, and September 30, 2024.
Payroll deductions required by the law can start on January 1, 2026, and the first premiums must be submitted to the DEED by April 30, 2026. Premiums will apply for wages earned between January 1, 2026, and March 31, 2026.
The state’s PFML was discussed in an article in the June 6, 2023, edition of Compliance Corner.
Minnesota employers should be aware of their obligation to file this report.
